We are proud to work with @woop_nz to recycle their food boxes and all the packaging that comes with their delicious meals.

All you need to do is leave your old box and the packaging out on delivery day and it will be picked up and make its way to @abilitiesrecycling for recycling.

Last Saturday, the @abilitiesrecycling team joined forces with @takapunarotary to host an e-waste collection day. Despite the rainy weather, our community showed up in full force to recycle their old electronics. ♻️💻📱

Together, we diverted tons of e-waste from landfill contributing to a cleaner planet🌍

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and also to all our volunteers from @takapunarotary who made this event such a success! 🙌

Step into the time machine as we rewind to 1959 – where the foundations were laid for our enduring partnership with Rotary Takapuna @takapunarotary. A visionary Rotarian, John Andersen, kindled the flame of change, inspiring the creation of Abilities Inc. Who could have foreseen that unfolding into a strong charitable business 60+ years later?

In the heart of this collaboration, Abilities North Shore Incorporated was born. Guided by an American model, we embarked on a noble mission: to empower people with disabilities through meaningful employment. Guided by the first employee, Des Waite, we evolved from assembly work to a full-fledged team we have today recycling e-waste, polystyrene, batteries, cardboard & much more.

What a wonderful partnership we have enjoyed with Rotary - thank you!

Her role is to look after all our staff. She makes sure we have all the right conditions and workplace practices in place to ensure our team succeeds and are happy in their work.

Akenese has been with Abilities for a long time (too many years to say!) and we are so grateful for the way she cares for everyone.

Abilities Group and Takapuna Rotary E-Waste Recycling Collection Day.

Now’s a good time to think about spring-cleaning/decluttering and identifying e-Waste that you may have accumulated over the past year.

We accept e-waste, electrical appliances, laptops and computers, polystyrene, batteries and cardboard.

Drop off event on 23rd September 2023 at Abilities Group premises at 91 Hillside Road between 9am and 12pm.

Please also consider gathering items from family, friends, neighbours, work places.

To make it easier on the day, and to recognise @takapunarotary commitment to supporting Abilities’ work, we only ask that you pay $10 for a boot load, $20 for a car load and $50 for a trailer load.

Abilities also offers secure document destruction, including computer hard-drives.
