OUR FUTURE PLANS

Sustainability is at the core of the Abilities business. For us, it means operating in a way that minimises our impact on the environment for future generations.

We achieve this through resource recovery and recycling of materials such as paper, cardboard, metals, plastics, and electronic waste. Our technical division, We have played a key role in various national and regional government recycling initiatives, as well as providing services to private enterprises in the Auckland region.

To ensure responsible waste management, we hold relevant “Basel Permits” issued by the Ministry for the Environment, allowing us to export residual hazardous components for recycling at approved facilities overseas.

Our certified “EcoWarranty” Environmental Management System and Environmental, Sustainability, and Purchasing Policies guide us in achieving our sustainability goals. We continuously measure and evaluate our energy and resource usage, and we have set targets to continuously improve our environmental performance.

On average, each year we recycle approximately 1.2 million tonnes of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. By doing so, we contribute to reducing waste and preserving the environment for future generations.
